Hi! MInd if I join the discussions? My name is Jan and I'm from Windsor Ontario. My husband and I are thinking of building a website to sell our homemade crafts. We would be grateful for any pointers.

Hello Jan! Welcome to the VictoryKey forums!
You're actually right next door to me (in relative terms). I'm just across the river about 20 miles outside of Detroit. My grandparents are from Windsor and I make my way over there at least 2-3 times a year to visit... it's such small world.
What areas do you need pointers in? Your best bet would be to post any questions you may have in our 'Online Business - General Discussion' or 'Technical Talk' areas.
I look forward to seeing you in the forums! _________________ Thanks!

Welcome, Jan! I look forward to talking with you about your site. What kind of crafts do you sell? _________________ Justin "The EntrepreneurDad" @

Thanks for the warm welcomes!
To answer Justin's question I create and sell various types of scrapbooks and dress up items for scrapbooks. I'm a huge scrapbooking fan and just about everything I know and love has a scrapbook associated with it in my closet! I'm trying to turn my hobby into a full time job. Wish me luck!

Jan,
Start a scrapbooking forum, sure there are others out there but treat it as a place to put your thoughts ideas and sources...scrapbooking 'buddies' can then also join to start the community off. Get some decent posts made and look to start promoting it on other scrapbooking forums (via your signature links without spamming of course).
It really is very easy to do:
You would need to register a domain name which is basically choosing a domain name and paying a registrar for it for a number of years..
You would need to source hosting, again quite straight forward and simply a case of paying for their service. I launch all my sites with a host that charges £1 a month and gives more than enough space/bandwidth for initial projects..
You then need a forum, with a host that offers fantastico support it is virtually a 5 click process to get a forum like the one we are wroting on here. It does take some technical knowledge to apply 'modifications' but I run several forums and do not really possess the knowledge that I need and simply pay for the 'mods' to be done when the revenue from the site allows..
From the forum you can then launch anything, please do not be afraid od stepping into the online world..in fact you are already there by reading this message Don't forget any help and support that you need is just a question away.. _________________ Ebay Forum : 0% Credit Card Profits : Dropshipping |

That is some really good advice, thank you. I will be looking into setting that up. It sounds like a lot of fun also. I did check and our website company does offer a forum capability included in our site.
I'll keep everyone posted on our success!
